Symbrenthia

Niklas Wahlberg and Andrew V. Z. BrowerThis tree diagram shows the relationships between several groups of organisms.
The root of the current tree connects the organisms featured in this tree to their containing group and the rest of the Tree of Life. The basal branching point in the tree represents the ancestor of the other groups in the tree. This ancestor diversified over time into several descendent subgroups, which are represented as internal nodes and terminal taxa to the right.
You can click on the root to travel down the Tree of Life all the way to the root of all Life, and you can click on the names of descendent subgroups to travel up the Tree of Life all the way to individual species.

close boxIntroduction
This genus of small, rapid fliers occurs from India to New Guinea. THe phylogeneetic analysis of Fric et al. (2004) suggests that the genus Mynes is embedded within a paraphyletic Symbrenthia as sister taxon to the hypselis - sinoides clade.Discussion of Phylogenetic Relationships
The cladogram shown represents relationships of species currently classified in Symbrenthia based on the most parsimonious tree of Fric et al. (2004), but excludes members of the genus Mynes, which those authors found to be embedded within Symbrenthia. See comments on Nymphalini page.References
